 "It took me 50 years before I went on my first hunt. It was worth the wait. What a
thrill. The six of us got to the Ranch Friday evening. After a great dinner and a
bunch of liars playing cards, we went to bed. Early next morning, after a great
breakfast, we headed to the rifle range for my "virgin" rifle shots. First shot with
my buddy Larry's shotgun was in the black. Not bad. I adjusted, and shot again.
Perfect. We went into the woods about 8:00 am. At 8:20 the two guides, spotted some
Boars just waking up. Larry, an experienced hunter, wanted me to get a boar, before
he did. Dana, the guide had told me about a half hour earlier, where on the boar I
should shoot. I was ready for my virgin kill. Larry said, shoot Mac, shoot Mac. If
I'd have waited 5 more seconds, Larry would have taken my boar.I looked up and had a
perfect look, broadside at this large boar. I positioned, and shot. Perfect. That
boar didn't move six inches. What a thrill. Spent the rest of the day helping Larry
(haha), and tracking some of the other kills. The Lodge was fabulous. Roomy,
comfortable, pool table, fireplace, showers, big screens. Food was awesome, and
plentiful. Guides were very experienced, friendly, great teachers, and genuinely
concerned about our happiness and safety. Can't wait to see my mount, and eat my
food."
